Florence Welsh nearly lost her leg thanks to a former boyfriend.
The Florence + the Machine singer still has a scar on her right foot from when she was 17 years old and received a phonecall from a boy she liked, causing her to jump around the room enthusiastically and land on a piece of floorboard which almost caused irreversible damage.
She explained: "A piece of floorboard got stuck in my foot when I was 17. I jumped off the bed because a boy I liked had phoned me. He turned out to be my first love, so I mean that worked out. But I almost lost the foot. That is the problem with being an exuberant person."Florence wrote her first album 'Lungs' about her break-up from another boyfriend Stuart and although the couple have now reconciled, she is unsure if theirs is a happy ever after story.
She told The Observer: "It does feel more joyous, but I wouldn't say happily-ever-after. It's not completely a case of 'Everything's fine now' because everything's still ... Even if you're in a relationship things are complicated. There's probably lots of things to deal with."
